Understanding Windows Blue Screen Error Codes

In the previous post we have discussed about how to fix blue screen on laptops, to continue these postings, now we will try to fix the blue screen error based on the error code that appears on the monitor when the computer has a blue screen.


There are a lot of error codes and below are some of the blue screen error that often occur:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (0x0000000A)

The cause:

  • Incompatibility of the hardware drivers installed on the computer
  • VGA card drivers are not compatible or not even installed
  • Driver Audio card that does not fit or VGA card is not installed correctly.

Solution:

  • Make sure you install the appropriate hardware driver.
  • Try to uninstall and reinstall the VGA card and your audio card, make sure it is installed correctly


NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM or FAT_FILE_SYSTEM (0x00000024) or (0X00000023)

The cause:

  • There is damage in the partition or file system, but not in the hard drive.

Solution:

  • Check to see if the cable SATA / IDE hard drives are installed correctly.
  • Check disk partition with chkdsk


UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (0x0000007F)

The cause:

  • Overheating (the temperature at the computer too hot)
  • Excessive Overclocking
  • Processor corrupted
  • Corrupted BIOS

Solution:

  • Turn off the computer first.
  • Checks whether or fan cooling system working properly
  • Add component cooling


DATA_BUS_ERROR

Cause:

  • Slot or memory (RAM) there is damage

The solution:

  • Try to check and replace it with a new RAM


PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

The cause:

  • Damage to the hardware, especially the Memory (RAM), VGA, and memory on the processor (L2 cache)

The solution:

  • Try checking the hardware components, unplug the plug or try to replace it with a new one


INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

The cause:

  • Jumper position on the wrong hard drive
  • IDE controller driver that is wrong
  • Boot sector viruses

The solution:

  • Check the IDE cable
  • Clean the virus in the boot sector
  • Set the jumpers on the hard disk


VIDEO_DRIVER_INIT_FAILURE

The cause:

  • The occurrence of mistakes during the install VGA driver

Solution:

  • Reinstall the VGA driver, make sure the driver has been updated


BAD_POOL_CALLER

The cause:

  • Error when installing the OS (usually occurs on Windows XP)

Solution:

  • Make sure the Windows XP installer CD is not damaged or corrupted
