System Restore included in all windows version from Windows Me, Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8. This feature often be used to recover computer from system malfuntion or other problem. You do not need to worry using this feature because your personal files and documents (like emails, photos and other documents) are not affected and you can also undo a system restore if necessary.
Enable System Restore
In order to make windows creates the restore point automatically, System Restore must be enabled. To make sure System Restore is enabled, follow this steps:
1. Click Start – right click My Computer icon – click on Properties
2. Select and Click System Protection on the left side of the System Windows
3. Select System Protection tab and then click Configure button.
4. To enable System Restore on the selected disk (in this sample: drive C), check “Restore system setting and previous versions of files”. You can also change the maximum disk space usage for System Restore by adjust the slider on Max Usage option,

If the size available for these system restore has reached, older restore points will be deleted.
Create Restore Point
To create restore point manually you can follow these steps:
1. Open System Protection tab, and select Create button
2. To identify your Restore Point, type a description on the box as follows :
3. Then click Create button and wait until windows finished create the restore point, when finished, a message will appear as follow:
Use Microsoft System Restore to revert computer state
If you want to restore the computer configuration to a previous point for example, because the computer stops working properly, you can use the following steps:
1. Open System Protection tab, then click System Restore
2. The list of some restore point will appear, here you can choose the restore point by date or by description which have been made before.
3. After selecting the restore point, click Next, and click Finish on Confirm your restore point window as follows:

Undoing System Restore
After computer system successfully restored, but it didn’t fix the computer problem or caused more problem, you can undo the restore operation by following these steps:
1. Open System Protection tab, then click System Restore. The Restore system files and settings and settings will open. Select Undo System Restore and click Next.
2. Confirm your restore point and click Finish.
