In the typical fast paced nature of technology, your 1080p TV has run out of date sooner than you would have expected and now you have what you would refer to as the next generation display in the 4K TVs or the Ultra HD. The fundamental features that you should have in mind include;

A. Screen size.

The 4K TVs have a larger number of pixels crammed up. Even though the pixels are smaller, it allows them to focus better on the bigger picture. This allows them to achieve a sharper and a higher quality picture that is more detailed and with better depth. However, for this to work, it has to be on larger screen hence the larger the screen the better.

Pros.

Cons.

The other problem is that the viewing is not friendly at close range. This means that this type of appliance is not appropriate for small units as one would not experience the full effect of the 4K features in close range to the screen. However, the screen is great at a distance.

B. Picture quality.

The main intention of having the 4K is to improve picture quality. This is why this is among the key features to consider when choosing a 4K TV. The best part is that this technology has managed to improve the quality of the picture by being able to produce more lifelike images that have a better sense of depth and color. This is more so on the smaller objects in the images.

Pros.
The higher resolution means that you have better viewing that is less pixilated and is smoother with high resolution. This makes it more comfortable and provides higher quality entertainment not to mention better display.

Cons.
As much as the resolution has been enhanced, the contrast, ratio and color accuracy have not changed much. This means that the picture could be better if these factors were incorporated in the ultra HD TVs.

The picture quality is easily notable on texts and small images but is not as easy to distinguish the difference between the 1080p and 4K with larger images.

C. Native content.

Probably among the most concerning things to any buyer who is looking to delve into the 4K TV market is where to get the content from. As much as this is a great concern, it is as not as a big concern as many would think. In any case, it still does work with the content available.

As much as the 4K does not have the native content to fit the features to consider when choosing a 4K TV it still does a great job with the existing HD content available.

Furthermore, YouTube already has a nascent 4K channel meaning that will only be a matter of time before other media houses join in this type of display and explore its possibility.

Cons.
The lack of native content means that you will buy a costly appliance that you will not be to experience its full potential any time soon. So, until the content is available, you will be just as good as keeping up with the HD TV.

4. Refresh rate.

With a relatively high refresh rate, this range of technology puts a new definition to better imaging and picture quality.

Pros.
The high refresh rate mostly in the range of 120Hz and 240 Hz in most cases, it results into finer and smoother pictures playing back every frame rate at 24fps.

As much as this type of technology has been around for sometime in the filming and cinema industries, it is relatively new in the TV world. It is expected that in time the 4K technology will be incorporated into the LCD making the screen sizes considerably smaller and more affordable not to mention more user friendly. This will also make it easier to find the features to consider when choosing a 4K TV and help to tie up the loose ends especially with regards to native content. It is great technology but until the native content is available no one will be able to realize the impact of the 4K TVs.
